Iran threatened the United States with strikes against Israel
On February 3, Ali Shamkhani, adviser to the Supreme leader of Iran on political issues, confirmed the Islamic Republic's plans to respond to Israel in the event of a US attack.
"Absolutely, of course<..."Our reaction to Israel's actions is inevitable and linked to their actions and steps <...> We oppose Israel and react in the same way," Shamkhani said in an interview with Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadaeen.
He also said that Iran sees the United States and Israel "not as two different elements, but one and the same thing." Therefore, if the United States strikes, Tehran will assume that Israel has also entered the war.
On the same day, The New York Times reported that Iran was ready to settle the deal with the United States by suspending or completely shutting down its nuclear program. It is noted that Tehran would prefer the proposal to create a regional consortium for the production of nuclear energy, put forward by the United States last year.
