In 2026, the American technology company Apple will prioritize the production of flagship models of the new iPhone instead of basic models due to a change in marketing strategy and supply chain constraints amid a global shortage of memory chips. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on January 30.

According to sources, Apple will focus on releasing its first-ever folding iPhone and two ungainly iPhone 18 models with updated cameras and enlarged displays in the second half of 2026, while the release of basic models will be postponed until the first half of 2027.

This step is aimed at optimizing resources and maximizing revenue and profits from premium devices against the backdrop of rising costs of memory chips and materials, as well as minimizing production risks, the material says.

Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that Apple had registered its trademark in Russia. The corresponding application was submitted in November 2023.
