More than 60% of Russians consider data storage security to be the main condition for providing biometrics to microfinance organizations. This is the conclusion reached by analysts of the <url> financial marketplace after examining the survey results. Izvestia got acquainted with the research data on January 20.
Thus, for 62% of respondents, the decisive factor in the transfer of biometric data is the level of cybersecurity of MFIs. Another 8% stressed that the main condition for them remains the possibility to revoke the provided data at any time.
The reputation of the lender also plays a significant role. Almost one in ten survey participants (11%) stated that they are ready to focus primarily on the fame of the MFO and its position in the market. At the same time, in this group, one in three respondents noted that they would agree to biometric identification if they had a positive personal experience of interacting with the company in the past.
For some borrowers, the parameters of the service itself are important. Thus, 5% of respondents indicated that a transparent and understandable loan processing process would be the decisive argument, and 4% drew attention to the quality and accessibility of the support service, especially in case of questions related to the use of biometrics.
Economic incentives also influence the willingness to share personal data. According to <url>, 10% of respondents are willing to undergo biometric identification if it allows them to obtain more loyal loan terms.
"Mandatory biometric authentication by borrowers is one of the most sensitive innovations for the microfinance industry in 2026. It will affect the creditors' key operational processes and require significant resources. The experience of previous years has shown that the next waves of regulatory strengthening are easier for those companies that prioritize the development of customer experience," comments the executive director of the financial marketplace "Choose.<url>" Yaroslav Badzhurak.
On January 9, Evgeny Khodchenkov, an investor and founder of the League of Investors investment club, said that the main financial mistake of Russians was not having a plan for spending money. According to him, many close the necessary tasks, but do not build a spending plan for the future. Because of this, people start making emotional purchases and making questionable investments. Khodchenkov recommended making a simple financial strategy to understand what and how much money is being spent, what is better to invest in, and how much can be saved.
