Dmitriev advised Callas not to drink before writing posts on social networks.
On January 18, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), advised the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, not to drink before writing posts on the social network X (former. Twitter).
"Dear Kaya, perhaps it's better not to drink before writing posts. Threatening the United States that they will "become poorer" is not the show of force that you are thinking about," Dmitriev said in response to the statement by the head of EU diplomacy.
He recalled a recent publication by the Politico newspaper about Callas, where journalists told how she jokingly suggested starting drinking because of global instability. At the same time, the head of the European diplomacy herself stressed that she usually drinks little.
Responding to Callas' statement about the need for a drink, on January 15, the Foreign Ministers of Estonia and Latvia, Margus Tsakhna and Baiba Brazhe, ironically discussed which alcohol to choose. The Latvian minister posted a photo of a bottle of Latvian-made gin, accompanying the post with a comment with the context of Kallas' statements. In response, the Estonian Foreign Minister humorously noted that, apparently, we are talking about a transition from "traditional Riga balms to more refined drinks."
