The Hydrometeorological Center predicted a new cold snap in Moscow from January 22
Next week, after the current frosty weekend, a new wave of cooling will arrive in Moscow — it will begin by Thursday, January 22, with temperatures again being 7-8 degrees below normal. This was announced on January 17 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
As the head of the meteorological service noted, the thermometer will drop to -24 degrees at night. On Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21, the temperature in Moscow will be around normal. Night temperatures will be up to -10 degrees, daytime temperatures from -1 to -8. Starting from the second half of Thursday, the pressure will start to rise again, and the temperature will drop noticeably.
"It will be -9...-14 degrees on Thursday afternoon. On Friday (January 23rd. — Ed.), Saturday (January 24. – Ed.) and Sunday (January 25. – Ed.) the temperature will drop by another 5 degrees. According to preliminary forecasts, it will be in the range of -19...-24 degrees at night, daytime temperatures around -15," the Interfax news agency quoted Vilfand as saying.
This weekend, on January 17 and 18, Muscovites expect a cold snap. Clarifications are possible on Saturday, and Sunday will be cloudy, Yandex Weather analysts told Izvestia on January 16. On Saturday, January 17, in the morning the temperature will be -15 degrees, in the afternoon it will rise to -13 degrees, and by night it will drop to -17 degrees. On Sunday, January 18, the weather will also be frosty. In the morning, the temperature will be -15 degrees, and in the evening and at night it will stop at -11 degrees.
