Phuket hospitals continue to treat 17 Russians injured in an emergency with a boat, while two of them are in intensive care. This was announced on January 12 by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Phuket, Egor Ivanov.
"At the moment, 17 injured Russians remain in Phuket hospitals, two of them in intensive care. The Consulate General is assisting in the repatriation of the body of a Russian citizen who died on January 11," RIA Novosti quoted Ivanov as saying.
The day before, the Consul General confirmed the death of a Russian woman as a result of a collision between a boat and a trawler. He later clarified that the deceased was a girl born in 2008.
As a result of the collision of a tourist boat with a fishing vessel in the Thai province of Phuket on January 11, 23 Russian citizens were hospitalized. According to Ivanov, there were 33 Russians on the boat, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries. The local police are investigating the incident.
