Last year, the growth of industrial reserves ready for oil production in Russia, according to preliminary data, amounted to 490 million tons, the corresponding figure for gas is 650 billion cubic meters. This was announced on Sunday, January 11, by Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra.
"We have received an increase in oil reserves of about 666 million tons, of which 490 million are industrial categories ABC1, that is, prepared for production. For gas — 679 billion cubic meters, of which 650 are reserves of industrial categories," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The agency's interlocutor clarified that the data obtained is not final, as currently some of the objects are still under examination.
A day earlier, Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), pointed to a significant increase in exports of Russian petroleum products, which was recorded in 2025.
Kazanov said on Tuesday, January 6, that the pace of Russia's reproduction of gold and silver reserves is outpacing their production. So, according to the statistics provided by him, the country managed to increase 542 tons of gold reserves and 4.4 thousand tons of silver.
