The Russian Ministry of Economic Development recommends that tour operators and travel agents suspend the sale of travel services to Venezuela. This was reported on January 5 in the press service of the department.

"Russian tour operators and travel agents should suspend the promotion and sale of tourist products, as well as individual tourist services to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela until the situation normalizes," the publication says.

In addition, the ministry also warned Russian citizens against tourist trips to Venezuela until the situation in the country normalizes. Tourists from the Russian Federation who are already in Venezuela are advised to exercise increased caution in their actions and movements.

The Russian Embassy in Caracas also called on Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to Venezuela. They noted that the recommendation is related to possible repeated attacks by the United States on Venezuela.

On January 3, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were captured and taken out of the territory of the state.

On January 3, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called Trump's military operation another proof of the destruction of the world order that was established after World War II.

Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said on January 3 that the reasons for the US military attack on Venezuela were completely fabricated. The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the American leadership to release Maduro.
