Russian citizens should refrain from traveling to Venezuela unless absolutely necessary. This was announced on January 5 at the Russian Embassy in Caracas.

"Russian citizens are strongly advised to refrain from traveling to Venezuela unless absolutely necessary," the Department of the Situation and Crisis Center of the Russian Foreign Ministry quoted the diplomatic mission as saying in its Telegram channel.

The report clarifies that the recommendation is related to possible repeated attacks by the United States on Venezuela.

On January 3, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that the President of the republic, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Celia Flores, were captured and taken away from the territory of the state.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the US leadership to release Maduro. In addition, the Ministry also stressed the need to create conditions for resolving existing problems between the parties through diplomatic means.

Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said on January 4 that most of Maduro's security personnel died as a result of US actions. According to him, the Venezuelan parliament will start working normally on January 5.

Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said on January 3 that the reasons for the US military attack on Venezuela were completely fabricated. He noted that Washington would hardly remain silent if such actions were taken against their country, and added that even the way the operation was executed and executed speaks for itself.
