Due to the effects of heavy snowfall in Adygea, there was a power outage, as a result of which 59 thousand residents of the republic remain without electricity. This was announced on January 1 by the head of the region, Marat Kumpilov.

According to him, at the moment 92 brigades consisting of 529 people and 242 units have been involved in the elimination of the consequences. Kumpilov noted that in the near future, 19 more brigades will arrive from other regions, which will allow restoring power supply as soon as possible.

"According to the data of the power engineers, who continue their work to restore communications, the number of subscribers without electricity will be reduced to 34 thousand people by the end of today," he said in a message on the Telegram channel.

The governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, announced on the same day that a massive power outage had occurred in the region due to the sticking of wet snow and icing of wires, affecting about 43 thousand people. According to Kondratiev, the situation is particularly difficult in certain settlements, including Belorechensky, Absheron, Kurganinsky, Labinsky and Ust-Labinsky districts, as well as in Armavir and Sochi.
