The Ministry of Agriculture expects to increase state support for the agro-industrial complex during 2026. This was announced to reporters by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elena Fastova, summing up the financing of the industry this year.

"Today we are ending the year with the amount of 665 billion rubles, which was allocated for four state programs. If you remember, at the beginning of the year, only 532 billion rubles were allocated for them. But we have gradually increased this amount over the course of the year, so in principle we have finished this year well. Slightly less than in 2024, but at a good level," she explained.

According to her, if we talk about 2026, 542 billion is currently included in the budget, but during the year the ministry intends to look for sources so that state programs can be funded. She also said that preferential loans remain a priority for farmers from the state in 2026. 123 billion is currently allocated in the federal budget for it, but the ministry also plans to increase this amount.

"This year we have concluded short-term concessional loans 15% more than last year, amounting to 731.8 billion rubles," said Elena Fastova.

According to her, as for banks, the largest share of loans issued was from Rosselkhoznadzor, which took a share of 40%. Sberbank came in second place (27%), and VTB came in third (14%). Elena Fastova also informed about the preparation of financing for spring field work.

"We have talked with the Ministry of Finance, we have an instruction from the president to provide preferential loans for seasonal work, so we are now preparing documents for the government to receive money for these purposes at the beginning of the year. In terms of the amount of subsidies, we plan that this will be the level of this year," the deputy minister explained.

On December 2, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said that the Russian agro-industrial complex is developing very actively. According to her, today Russian agricultural products are supplied to 160 countries around the world. The Minister also stressed the role of science in the development of agriculture, which, according to her, has been actively revived since 2022.
