Eight Roma women have registered more than 600 non-existent children for the sake of payments

The investigative unit of the Main Investigative Department (SCH GSU) The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Novosibirsk region has completed a preliminary investigation of a criminal case against eight women and a man who are accused of fraud. A group of individuals carried out mass registration of non-existent children and received government payments for them. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"In total, false information about the birth of more than 600 children was submitted to the territorial offices of the Social Fund of Russia. The amount of payments exceeded 237 million rubles," a representative of the Interior Ministry said on her Telegram channel.

Volk noted that according to the investigation, the man accused of complicity contacted the multifunctional centers (MFC) of Moscow and the registry offices of Samara and Nizhny Novgorod. He stated that he was present at a home birth and asked for a birth certificate. After processing the documents for non-existent children, the "false mothers" applied to government agencies for payments.

According to Volk, during the investigation, the facts of forgery by the accused of passports of Russian citizens, which were used to identify individuals in government agencies during the execution of the criminal scheme, were established. It is specified that 89 criminal cases on the facts of criminal activity in 24 regions of the country are connected in office work. At the moment, the case with the approved indictment has been sent to the Central District Court of Novosibirsk for consideration.
