US President Donald Trump has said that Ukraine has lost territory. He made the corresponding statement on December 15 at the White House during a conversation with reporters.

"They've already lost territory, to be honest. The territory has been lost," the American leader said.

Trump also said that the United States has made significant progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

The President of the United States said earlier in the day that the United States and Europe are working on security guarantees for Ukraine, and Europe will be "a big part of this."

Negotiations between representatives of the United States and Ukraine ended in Germany on December 15. They lasted two hours. The day before, the next stage of negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations took place in Berlin. US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff said at the time that significant progress had been made during negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation.

At the same time, The Wall Street Journal reported that the meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Witkoff was difficult. According to the newspaper, the United States insists on quick solutions to resolve the conflict. However, Zelensky and the European Union (EU) point to the remaining serious differences in the peace plan that need to be resolved.
