The former head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, gave himself a bonus of almost $1 million upon his dismissal. This was announced on December 15 by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, First Deputy Head of the Committee on Housing and Communal Services and Energy Alexey Kucherenko.

"Kudritsky, when he left the company, wrote himself a 40 million hryvnia bonus. In August last year, a man who left the company on his own <...> wrote out such a bonus for himself," Kucherenko said on the Kiev—24 TV channel.

He also accused the former head of the energy company of embezzling a large sum amid a number of scandals, including those related to the construction of protective structures for energy facilities. According to him, the incident occurred in August 2024.

On December 10, US President Donald Trump pointed out the widespread nature of corruption in Ukraine. The American leader also expressed doubts about the observance of democratic procedures in the country.

On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the country's energy sector, through which about $100 million passed. At that time, seven people were charged, including businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme).

In early December, it became known that Ukraine expressed disappointment with the corruption scandal. According to one of the local residents, the words about the alleged ignorance of the heads of the Kiev regime about the situation with corruption in the country "are just making citizens laugh."
