"The Americans have set a course for the removal of Zelensky"
The United States may oust Vladimir Zelensky if he interferes with a peaceful settlement, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said in an interview with Izvestia. It is difficult to imagine signing an agreement with the current authorities in Kiev. At the same time, part of Europe is still supporting the country, as the EU is in conflict with Russia at the expense of the Kiev regime, Azarov added. Against this background, new provocations from Ukraine are not excluded.
"This position is generally unconstitutional for Ukraine"
— There is another corruption scandal in Ukraine. What new revelations should we expect? Can NABU come to Vladimir Zelensky with searches?
— The scandal peaked when the former head of the president's office, Andrei Ermak, was searched, and after his resignation, this story subsided a little. But this does not mean that the investigation has stopped.
As for a possible search of Zelensky, this is excluded. He is, so to speak, in the post of president. Another thing is that he is illegitimate. But I think that such events will not be held in his address now.
The USA created NABU. And the bureau's work could not have been carried out in such a harsh direction, such as, for example, suspending businessman Timur Mindich and arresting ministers, if there had not been a direct command from the Americans. In other words, this clearly indicates that the Americans have set a course for the removal of Zelensky.
It is difficult to say how long he will be at his post. It all depends on the US plans. I believe they need him now as a negotiator to whom they can impose certain requirements and conditions. But if things don't work out with him, they'll just take him away, and the whole conversation will end there.
— In your opinion, can Ukraine return to the Istanbul talks?
— Let's call it the Kiev regime, since this is the territory seized by it. He will not return to any Istanbul agreements.
— The conflict between the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers is currently escalating in Ukraine. Can it lead to the complete resignation of the Cabinet?
— It does not depend on the European Solidarity party, in my opinion, it has 26 deputies. There are almost 400 people in the Verkhovna Rada. Another thing is that now the ferment has begun inside the dominant Servant of the People faction, there are more than 240 people there. When Zelensky tried to push through the rada a resolution extending the powers of his presidency, only 218 voted for him. In fact, even his party did not provide at least some fictitious support. But at the same time, there is no need to experience any illusions. This conflict will not lead to resignation. In case of any more serious unrest, a replacement for the chairman of the Rada (Ruslan Stefanchuk. — Izvestia), but for this you need to get 226 votes. They don't have that many yet.
In fact, they are talking about the removal of the government that was appointed a few months ago. Resignation will be possible only when 226 votes are gained, that is, the Servant of the People will finally disintegrate.
— Another relevant issue is the replacement of Andrey Ermak. What should you expect from a new person in this position?
— This position is generally unconstitutional for Ukraine. It's just that Yermak, with Zelensky's assistance, could give some instructions to the prosecutor general, the head of the security service, that is, commit official crimes, this is not part of his functions. If Zelensky finds a person who will work within the framework of his duties, that is, ensure the work of the president, prepare decrees, orders, certificates for signature and not interfere in such a rude way in the work of internal authorities, then it will be fine.
"The European leaders' considerations are a course towards conflict with Russia through the Kiev regime"
— The European Union has already expressed dissatisfaction with the corruption scandal in Ukraine. And at the same time, Europe is completely on Kiev's side. But can such massive revelations reduce support or freeze the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU? Or, on the contrary, will the European Union become even more active against the background of the US positions?
— No scandal can change any political course or decisions that are made for other reasons. The European leaders' considerations are a course towards conflict with Russia through the Kiev regime.
And what this Kiev regime is doing, corrupt or not, destroying the economy, killing all people — the European Union has absolutely nothing to do with it. We need to look at the facts: they have already allocated €90 billion to Ukraine.
"Their strategy is the same — to strike at Russia"
— But is it worth expecting new provocations from Kiev in the near future against the background of its uncertain negotiating positions?
— They declare harshly that they will not compromise either on sovereignty or territory. He (the Kiev regime. — Izvestia) he behaves impudently, persistently. On the one hand, he declares his desire for peace, on the other, he says, "we will not make any concessions." Let's evaluate everything from the point of view of the possible achievement of peace — with this regime, I believe that this is impossible.
Regarding the provocations: he has carried them out and will carry them out regardless of any external or internal factors. If he has long-range weapons, missiles, and drones capable of reaching certain targets, he can launch them. He will do it. That's when he loses such opportunities, then he will stop. Their strategy is the same — to strike at Russia.
