In September, the United States increased imports of buckwheat from Russia by two times compared to the previous month. This was reported on December 13 by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the American statistical Service.

According to the results of the beginning of autumn, American importers purchased Russian buckwheat for $208 thousand against $121.6 thousand in August. In annual terms, the volume of shipments increased by 4.8%.

In general, in January–September, the United States purchased buckwheat from Russia in the amount of $1.5 million, which is slightly less than in the same period last year ($ 1.6 million). Despite this, Russia continues to be the largest supplier of buckwheat to the American market.

Canada ranks second in terms of buckwheat exports to the United States for the first nine months, with an indicator of $1.4 million. Supplies from Ukraine amounted to $143.6 thousand.
