The new rule, which exempts mothers of children under three years of age from probation in employment, will help reduce stress when going to work and strengthen the human resources potential of the economy. This was stated to Izvestia on December 9 by Anastasia Gorelkina, an economist, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of HC SDS JSC, a member of the Board of Directors of KAO Azot.

"Russia is gradually moving towards a more careful attitude towards those who combine work and caring for a young child. The new rule — to accept women with children under three years old without probation — is just about that. It removes the same unnecessary stress that often stops young mothers from going to work: the fear that "you won't fit in," or that the first months will turn into a test of survival. When this pressure is gone, it becomes easier to return to the profession and feel the support under your feet again. And, importantly, many people have the opportunity to calmly build career plans without giving up family tasks," the expert said.

In addition, she added that this change will have a positive impact on employers. Women who return to work after the birth of a child usually approach employment consciously — they value stability, are focused on results and demonstrate high responsibility. The elimination of formal restrictions speeds up the establishment of business contacts and reduces the burden on both sides.

The economist also noted that such measures strengthen the labor market: fewer qualified specialists drop out of the profession for long periods, companies gain access to motivated personnel, and the economy gains additional human potential.

"In general, this initiative makes the work environment a little more human. It helps to remove unnecessary barriers and gives young mothers the opportunity to return to the profession calmly, without feeling that life is divided into "before" and "after". It's about support, trust and a normal attitude to the fact that career and family can go side by side," concluded Gorelkina.

On the same day, it was reported that the Russian government approved an initiative that prohibits the establishment of a probation period for women with children under the age of three. This bill is aimed at expanding the scope of this benefit.

Before that, on December 7, it became known that in 2027 it is planned to reduce the list of professions prohibited for women. It was clarified that the changes will affect the transport and manufacturing industries.
