The Sverdlovsk and Kaluga regions are among the top 5 leaders in the number of new business registrations under female leadership. This is evidenced by the results of Delobank's research, which was reviewed by Izvestia on December 8.

According to the study, the regions took the second and third places in the rating, respectively. In 2025, female—led companies that appeared in the Sverdlovsk Region accounted for 11.06% of all registered enterprises, and 6.11% in the Kaluga Region.

Moscow remains the absolute leader in the number of registrations, accounting for 13.39% of female—led enterprises. The top 5 also includes the Samara Region (5.53%) and St. Petersburg (5.24%).

"In recent years, women have been particularly successful in occupying niches that previously belonged to foreign manufacturers. They are launching their own clothing brands, setting up cosmetics production and confidently competing in the field of information technology. This demonstrates their high adaptability and ability to see new opportunities where others see only risks," explained Maxim Svyatovtsev, Director of Delobank.

He noted that over the past five years, the proportion of women in business has been stable at 40%, and in the future it will only grow. The most popular area for women's business is construction, which accounts for 52% of all projects. At the same time, the dynamics of the last two years demonstrates a change in entrepreneurial interests.

In 2024, the top 5 included non-specialized wholesale trade, online commerce, trucking, electrical installation, and building construction. However, by 2025, online retail, sales in non-specialized stores, hairdressing and beauty salon services, IT development and design have taken the lead.

The study showed that women prefer to open their own business in the spring, which accounts for almost 10% of all registrations. The second and third peaks of activity were observed in July and September.

On October 31, Kristina Sudnik, an entrepreneur and head of the Bahar Design women's clothing brand, told Izvestia how to modernize her professional skills in business and start her business on maternity leave. The main step is to set aside time within the work schedule to work out the idea and put it into operation. According to the expert, you can find up to 15 free hours during a standard working week. If you devote time to the project on Friday, which is usually reserved for completing tasks and preparing for the weekend, this will be equivalent to three full-time working days.
