On December 7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a meeting with American Leader Donald Trump in December at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

"There are opportunities for peace now, and we strive to take advantage of them. I'm going to discuss them with President Trump when I meet with him before the end of this month," Netanyahu said.

He also noted that at this stage, opportunities for peace in the region are "at hand." According to the Israeli Prime Minister, Iran was the main reason for the destabilization in the Middle East, and now, according to Netanyahu, the country has been relegated to the "background." He also noted the importance of "putting an end" to the rule of the Hamas movement in the region and stressed that this is a significant part for the future of Gaza.

"And now we have a second phase, no less difficult, to achieve the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza," Netanyahu added.

Earlier, on December 1, during a telephone conversation with Netanyahu, Trump invited him to visit the White House in the "near future." It was noted that the parties discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip, the issue of the disarmament of the Palestinian Hamas movement, as well as the expansion of peace agreements.
