A three-meter monument to Robocop appeared in Detroit.
A huge 3.3 m high bronze statue of Robocop stands near a shopping mall in the East Market area in Detroit. This was reported on December 5 by the Associated Press agency with reference to Jim Toscano, co-owner of the Free Age film company.
"The bronze statue now stands bolted to the sidewalk, even in a snowstorm and in the dark, people drove by to look at it," Toscano said.
"Robocop" was released in theaters in 1987. In the film, Detroit of the future is shown as a crime-ridden city. Actor Peter Weller played the role of a policeman who was turned into an almost invincible cyborg by experimental doctors.
On October 2, The Washington Post reported that the statue of American President Donald Trump and financier Jeffrey Epstein, more than 300 cm high, was returned to Capitol Hill in the United States. The sculpture, titled "Best Friends Forever," was erected on Capitol Hill by a group of anonymous artists who are critical of the Trump administration.
