In the Black Sea off the Turkish coast, a fire broke out on the tanker Kairos, en route to Novorossiysk without cargo. This was announced on November 28 by the Turkish Maritime Administration.

"A message was received that a tanker caught fire at a distance of 28 miles from the coast of Turkey due to external influences," RIA Novosti quoted the text of the message.

The condition of 25 crew members is considered normal. Rescuers have been sent to the Gambian-flagged vessel to evacuate the sailors. The authorities of Kocaeli province confirmed the information about the fire and sent coast guards and medical services to the scene.

In the city of Uruma, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, on August 20, a fire broke out on the amphibious transport dock of the US Navy USS New Orleans. According to a representative of the Japanese Coast Guard, it was confirmed that smoke was rising from the bow of the ship. Japan's Self-Defense Forces participated in extinguishing the fire.
