- Military personnel of the North group of forces spoke about training on working with drones
Military personnel of the 65th regiment of the North group of forces of the newly formed branch of the unmanned systems forces spoke about drone control training. The footage is published by Izvestia on November 28.
"They are practicing a practical flight here. The task is to walk along the corridor, overcome obstacles. When performing combat missions, this can be useful, for example, if it is necessary to guide an FPV drone through a doorway or window and hit a target that is in hiding," said Izvestia correspondent Tatiana Simonenkova.
Several groups are working at the landfill at the same time. Some practice controlling FPV drones, while others learn how to shoot them down.
"You're leading the plate. Imitation of a real drone. The saucer is small, and the drone is also small. It just fills the hand, I repeat, to the point of automatism, in order to hit the target. It's already faster to come to victory," said the operator of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the call sign Spartak.
A fighter with the call sign Snowman works on a simulator — this is how military personnel develop motor skills.
"To sit at the console, you won't fly right away. It takes time and a lot of practice. I came, I tried, I liked it. I made an effort and studied. This is the only way to gain experience," he said.
The training structure includes more than just practice. The commander of a company of reconnaissance and strike UAVs with the call sign Vityaz explains to the fighters the device of FPV drones and aircraft-type reconnaissance aircraft, talks about their components and capabilities.
"At the moment, the fighters are studying, starting from the radio wave, the propagation of the radio wave, what polarization is, how the drone is controlled, its technical capabilities, possible malfunctions and a way to eliminate them in the field," he said.
Military personnel also undergo engineering training — calculations are under the gun of the enemy, so fortification skills are critically important.
"Unmanned systems have changed the fighting. And now it is a separate branch of the armed forces, for which fighters are continuously being trained," the correspondent said.
The Deputy Chief of Staff with the call sign Peter emphasized that Russian units have unique experience in using various types of drones.
"Our Armed Forces have tremendous experience in this, taking into account the conduct of hostilities during this time, which many countries still have to adopt. There are a lot of exploits of UAV operators who saved people. You can see the heroes at every turn," he said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 27 that Russia had made a revolution in the field of UAVs. According to the Russian leader, he does not believe that domestic production capacities are over-sized. At the same time, the state satisfies not only its own needs for technology, but also exports it to other countries.
