Romania took off two F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets on the night of November 22 to monitor the situation on the border with Ukraine. This was announced on November 22 by the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense on its website.

It is noted that at 01:33 local time (02:33 Moscow time), the planes took off following the Ro-Alert alarm. The reason for the departure was the intensification of hostilities near the Romanian border and the alleged appearance of drones (UAVs) in the area of the Ukrainian city of Izmail, which is located near the Romanian border near Tulcea county.

The Romanian military department stressed that no violations of the country's airspace were recorded during the monitoring. After completing the task, the planes returned to the military base.

Romania took off two F-16 fighter jets and two German Eurofighter Typhoons on the night of November 3-4 to ensure the safety of airspace near the border with Ukraine. It was clarified that the pilots had permission to open fire in violation of Romanian airspace. According to the Ministry, no unauthorized incursions were recorded, and no debris from aerial objects was found on the territory of the country.
