Most Russian drivers, making a choice between friction ("Velcro") and studded tires this season, prefer the latter. This follows from the results of a survey conducted by Sergey Tselikov, director of Autostat, among the audience of the agency's Telegram channels.

According to the survey results, 52% of respondents said that studded wheels are installed for the winter season. At the same time, 42% of respondents prefer to travel in winter on friction tires.

For a small proportion of respondents (2%), there is no difference between spikes and Velcro. Another 1% of drivers indicated that, due to the climatic zone, they can afford to do without winter tires altogether.

Earlier, on November 13, it was reported how the prices of car tires in Russia have changed over the year. Thus, the average price for premium brand winter tires increased by 4.8% over the year, and for non—premium brand winter tires - by 5.9%. Premium summer tires rose in price by 3.1% over the same period, while non—premium tires rose by 7.8%, experts estimate.
