Mitsubishi has registered three trademarks in Russia
Mitsubishi has registered trademarks in Russia with the names of three models — the Pajero SUV, the Outlander crossover and the Attrage sedan. Information about the state registration appeared on November 6 in the open database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS).
The applicant is listed as Mitsubishi Jidosha Kage Kabushiki Kaisha with a registration address in Tokyo. Trademarks are registered for a period until April 2035 and are registered according to the 12th class of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), which includes cars, among other things. Their registration does not mean that Mitsubishi has plans to restart sales of this model in Russia.
Mitsubishi Motors stopped car production at the Kaluga plant on April 8, 2022. Mitsubishi Outlander and Pajero Sport were assembled at the enterprise. The supply of components for production stopped in March, but for some time the plant was operating at the expense of existing stocks. Official deliveries of Mitsubishi vehicles to Russia have been suspended.
Also on November 6, information about the registration of the Nismo trademark from Nissan Jidosya Kabusiki Kaisha appeared in the FIPS database. This is the Nissan brand, which it uses to label sports modifications of its cars.
In April last year, it was reported that the Russian representative office of Mitsubishi (Mitsubishi Motors Rus LLC) terminated the agreement on the contract production of cars at the Kaluga automobile plant PSMA Rus and paid the company almost 3 billion rubles in compensation in connection with the termination of assembly.
