A book presentation about Russia's outstanding weapons designers was held in Moscow.

The presentation of the book "The Century of Russian designers. The stories of outstanding inventions and their creators." Footage from the October 29 event is published by Izvestia.

The publication contains materials about outstanding Russian weapons designers. Mikhail Chkanikov, editor-in-chief of the AiF Publishing House, said that the project was born out of a popular column in the Argumenty I Fakty newspaper.

"At first, there was a desire to rewrite history and bring back to it those people who not only rode on the battlefields with a saber in their hands, not only made great decisions with a crown on their heads, but also those people who created the eternal material history of the country. <...> We collected a stack of paper and came to the AST publishing house. And then it turned out that in order to make a book out of this stack of paper, we also need designers," he said.

Yulia Dannik, head of the editorial office of the OGIZ publishing house AST, noted that the editorial staff had developed the structure of the book and selected the most significant materials for the first volume, since the team was confident in the prospect of creating a whole series of publications.

"We had specialists, historians in the arms industry, in military history. <...> And it turned out that we were very proud of," she concluded.

Earlier, on July 29, a book about the deceased Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak was presented in Crimea. The book titled "Alexander Fedorchak: son, Friend, military commander" was published on the correspondent's birthday. According to Victoria Kondratskaya, one of the authors of the book, associate professor of Journalism at the Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, the work contains memoirs of Alexander's relatives, teachers, as well as poems by people with whom the journalist communicated during his work.
