The British Ministry of Defense is preparing for the possible deployment of its military in Ukraine. This was reported on October 28 by Bloomberg, citing a statement by British Defense Minister John Healey.

"The UK's next major military deployment could be Ukraine. Healy said he was preparing a package worth more than £100 million to cover the initial costs of deploying troops and equipment there," the material says.

The article clarifies that as part of a possible mission, British soldiers will train Ukrainian troops far from the front line, and the British Navy and Air Force (RAF) will help control the sky and sea.

The commander of the 11th Brigade, Matt Lewis, told the publication that NATO is thinking about how to allocate limited resources to the expanded flank.

"One of the compulsions that the UK's defense has to contend with is that we are making a smaller army more effective across a larger geographical mass," Lewis said.

Earlier, on October 14, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said that a foreign military contingent in Ukraine would be considered a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.

During his speech at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2025) on September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the absence of the need to deploy EU troops on the territory of Ukraine after peace is achieved. He clarified that if a consensus is reached, Russia will comply with all agreements and respect security guarantees relevant to both Moscow and Kiev.
