Lavrov discussed strategic partnership by phone with the Algerian Foreign Minister
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on October 21.
"The ministers reviewed the priorities for further strengthening the relations of the in—depth strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria," the Telegram channel said.
The Ministry noted that during the telephone conversation, the topic of Russia's presidency of the UN Security Council and the latter's work program were raised, with an emphasis on the issues of the Western Sahara settlement.
It is specified that the phone call took place on the initiative of the Algerian side. Both sides also expressed satisfaction with the level of trust in the political dialogue.
On October 16, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that during talks on Thursday, Sergey Lavrov and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita discussed the situation in North Africa and the Sahara-Sahel region. His Moroccan counterpart's visit to Moscow is connected with his participation in the eighth meeting of the intergovernmental joint Russian-Moroccan commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical cooperation, where he serves as co-chairman.
