- NYT warned about the termination of Czech supplies to Ukraine with the victory of the opposition
The Czech Republic may stop supplying ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) if the largest opposition movement ANO ("Action of Dissatisfied Citizens") wins the parliamentary elections. This was reported on October 1 by The New York Times.
The publication claims that the ANO is preparing to fight for election victory. If successful, the movement's leaders can either disband the ammunition supply program or invite NATO to take over the task in order to focus on rebuilding the country's struggling economy.
The New York Times notes that the ANO criticizes the ammunition supply program due to inflated prices and opacity caused by dependence on shady commercial transactions. Yaroslav Bzokh, a member of the European Parliament from ANO, noted that with rising consumer prices, "people are becoming more and more nervous."
On September 30, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said that the country's goal is to receive $ 1 billion per month as part of an agreement between the United States and NATO on the supply of weapons to Kiev. He clarified that the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative provides an opportunity for Kiev to purchase weapons, in particular Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and other American equipment.
On September 11, it became known that Ukraine was requesting $60 billion from the West, which would not include direct arms supplies and funds allocated by Washington. It was clarified that compared to 2024, Ukraine's financial requirements have doubled.
