Zakharova called Trump's latest statements a tactic for negotiating
Recent statements by US President Donald Trump sharply criticizing Russia are a tactic for conducting the negotiation process. This opinion was expressed on September 26 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"It seems to me that this is such a tactic, such a strategy, such political maneuvering for negotiations," TASS quoted her as saying.
Earlier, on September 23, Trump said that the Russian economy is in a difficult situation and is facing difficulties.
In addition, he said that NATO countries can shoot down Russian aircraft if they violate the alliance's airspace. At the same time, answering the question of whether the United States is ready to assist the alliance's allies in this initiative, the American president clarified that this would "depend on the circumstances."
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, in turn, suggested that Trump's harsh statements about Russia may be related to a desire to play along with other foreign leaders. According to him, the Russian Federation takes into account all signals from the United States, both public and through closed channels.
