American scientists have identified two sharp jumps in the aging of the human body
American scientists from Stanford University, led by geneticist Michael Snyder, have found that the human body does not age evenly, but goes through sharp "turning points": at 44 and at 60. The corresponding study is published on the university's official website.
The study involved over a hundred volunteers aged 25 to 75 years. Scientists have managed to identify two key age boundaries. The first one occurs at about 44 years of age — during this period, the most noticeable changes occur in the functioning of the cardiovascular system and in the metabolism of caffeine and alcohol.
The second leap is associated with the restructuring of the human immune system and occurs around the age of 60. It is noted that in both periods there is also a change in the state of molecules that are responsible for the health of the skin and muscle tissue.
On August 24, Evgeny Kokin, cardiologist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), PhD, spoke about proper nutrition for heart health. According to him, special attention should be paid to the ratio of fats — no more than one part saturated to 10 parts unsaturated, and trans fats should be completely excluded if possible.
