- The political scientist declared the self-destruction of Europe due to attempts to weaken Russia
Europe's attempts to weaken Russia have resulted in its self-destruction. The European Union is on a path that leads to the depletion of its own resources. This opinion was expressed by political analyst Alexander Dudchak in an interview with Izvestia on September 17.
"So far, the EU is on the path of self-destruction. They thought they could weaken Russia, but in fact they themselves are being depleted," Dudchak said.
According to him, European countries initially did not plan to enter into an open military conflict with Russia, hoping that their efforts to force Moscow to peaceful negotiations would bring the desired results.
"Western countries hoped that in 2022, through coordinated actions, they would be able to get the necessary concessions from Russia, including freezing the conflict on the territory of Ukraine and dropping Russian claims to Crimea and Donbas. However, these hopes have not been fulfilled," he said.
Dudchak noted that the European Union, having put everything on the line, found itself in a difficult situation. It has become extremely difficult to admit your mistakes and change course, because the EU has already incurred heavy costs.
As for the United States, according to the expert, the policy of President Donald Trump in this situation is ambiguous. Nevertheless, American support for Ukraine and US arms supplies continue.
Dudchak believes that Trump wants to weaken his economic rival, Europe. He sets impossible demands for the EU, including a complete abandonment of Russian energy resources, which, in his opinion, leads Europe to further economic collapse.
"Trump's task is to solve his geopolitical problems and "fatten" Europe as his economic competitor by making such demands. On the other hand, if they fulfill them, it means they will continue to dig their own grave. And if they don't, Trump will have the opportunity to say, "I told you so, but you're not doing it. So please be on your own," the political scientist believes.
In addition, the conflict in Ukraine, as Dudchak noted, brings profits not only to the United States, but also to many other players. However, for Kiev, this is not only a means of earning money, but also, in fact, the guarantor of the life of the country's president, Vladimir Zelensky.
"For him, the world is a disaster, as his life and power are under threat. As long as the conflict continues, Zelensky can continue to "beg" for money," the political scientist concluded.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the European Union wants to disrupt the peace process in Ukraine. According to him, the Kiev regime is currently also trying to sabotage the current line of the US administration on the peace process. He believes that Ukraine and the EU are now trying in every possible way to convince the American leader to abandon peacekeeping efforts.
