The State Duma called for a response to the training of Lithuanian schoolchildren to work with UAVs

Teaching Lithuanian schoolchildren how to interact and create drones (UAVs) may indicate the republic's offensive plans, since drones are mostly not designed for defense. Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, expressed this opinion on Monday, September 15.

Earlier, the newspaper Le Parisien wrote that Lithuanian middle and high school students will study the assembly, programming and control of drones for four years. 360.ru .

"Drones are more of an offensive weapon. There is no question of any defense here — they are aiming very clearly. (...) We need to be on our guard and always watch what is happening in Lithuania, especially since Lithuania is across the Neman River," Kolesnik said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

According to Kolesnik, Lithuania is preparing for a military conflict with Russia. The MP stressed that Moscow needs to do something to counter Lithuanian drones and other types of weapons.

"We need to react to everything and understand how this can be countered," said the deputy.

On August 10, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry summoned the Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation in connection with the incident with drones that violated Polish airspace.

Earlier in the day, the operational command of the Armed Forces of Poland (RFA) reported on the defeat of several drones by the Polish military that violated the country's airspace. Later, the Reuters news agency, citing sources in NATO, said that the alliance did not regard the incident with the drone in Poland as an attack.

Andrei Ordash, Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation in Warsaw, clarified that Poland had not provided any evidence of the Russian origin of the UAVs shot down near the borders. Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski, in turn, announced plans to present a note to the Russian ambassador in connection with the drone incident.
