- The Federation Council appreciated Zelensky's words about his readiness to meet with Putin
The United States is forcing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to negotiate with Russia. Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, expressed this opinion on Monday, September 15, in response to the Ukrainian leader's statement about the need to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the politician, the Americans are forcing Zelensky to negotiate with Russia, but he is very afraid of this, because he understands that Russian demands on Ukraine have remained unchanged.
Jabarov recalled that one of Moscow's main demands to Kiev is that Ukraine should be a non—aligned state.
"This should be written down in some final document with written guarantees from world leaders," the senator said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
At the same time, Jabarov believes that Zelensky will stall for time until the moment when US President Donald Trump runs out of power. Kiev hopes that the Europeans will be ready to enter the war with Russia by 2030, he added.
"If a person wants to negotiate, he gives specific proposals. And when he starts making faces in front of the public and constantly tries to insult our country, our president, then I think there is nothing to talk about with this person," the politician said, adding that Russia does not refuse negotiations, but they must be meaningful.
Earlier that day, Zelensky announced his readiness for a personal meeting with Putin, although he had previously found reasons to avoid such talks several times, according to the website. kp.ru .
At the same time, he stressed that he wants to conduct a dialogue directly, without intermediaries from the United States or Europe, although he counts on their support, writes Moscow 24.
In turn, Trump said that Putin and Zelensky cannot communicate because of the hatred they feel for each other. In this regard, he admitted that he would have to conduct all negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. 360.ru .
On September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Zelensky to come to Moscow if he is ready for negotiations. The Russian leader clarified that he had never ruled out the possibility of a meeting with the Ukrainian president, but questioned the expediency of holding it.
On September 5, during the plenary session of the X Eastern Economic Forum (WEF), Putin promised to provide working conditions and security for the leader of the Kiev regime to meet in Moscow.
