Bakanov spoke about the advantages of the NCC in Moscow
The National Space Center (NCC) in Moscow will allow the space industry enterprises located there to solve issues directly. This was announced on Saturday, September 13, by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation.
"Now they (representatives of enterprises — Ed.) are traveling all over Moscow, carrying papers to each other, carrying some documents to each other. But here they are all on the same site, they can look into each other's eyes, solve any issue by simply moving between floors," he told Izvestia correspondent Viktor Sineok.
The head of Roscosmos clarified that the capital's NCC will not take over the functions of the mission control center (MCC) in Korolev, responsible for managing the International Space Station (ISS). Instead, the Central Control Center of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) will be located in the Moscow center.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin officially opened a new NCC in the capital. The Head of State congratulated everyone involved in the Russian space industry on the opening of the complex. The new space center is a joint project of the Moscow government and the Roscosmos state corporation, built on behalf of the president.
