- Nebenzia pointed to Ukraine's ill-considered attempts to expand the "geography of the conflict"
Ukraine intends to disrupt the settlement of the conflict by involving other European states in it. This was announced on September 12 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.
The corresponding statement was made by him at a meeting of the UN Security Council, at which the incident about the appearance of allegedly Russian drones over the territory of Poland was discussed.
"The head of EU Diplomacy (EU. Without waiting for the official conclusions, Kaya Kallas hastened to make a loud statement about the alleged deliberate violation of Polish airspace...> We are talking about Kiev's desire to involve more and more states in the confrontation with Russia at any cost. It's no secret that Ukraine has been consistently trying to expand the geography of the conflict for a long time, without thinking about the consequences of such an escalation," Nebenzia said.
The Russian permanent representative also stressed that throughout the entire development of the Ukrainian conflict, Warsaw "supported any actions" of the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who is opposed to a political solution to both the current situation and the entire conflict. He added that Moscow cannot allow the conflict to expand and will take immediate and concrete steps towards peace.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, over whose territory the wreckage of 12 drones was discovered on September 10, said on September 12 that Ukraine was one of the places from where these devices took off. On the same day, footage of the fallen drones was published.
A day earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Poland's accusations against Russia made after the incident groundless, which, according to Reuters, NATO initially did not regard as an attack.
