Miroshnik linked the murder of Parubiy with the cleansing of the political field in Ukraine

The murder of former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, who was among those who supported the establishment of neo-Nazism in the country at the legislative level, may be related to the cleansing of the political field. This opinion was expressed by Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with Izvestia on August 30.

He noted that Porubiy had recently been in the field of view of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his political forces, which, although they are opponents of the current government, also support radical Ukrainian nationalists.

"For the Zelensky regime, they represent a certain, let's say, irritant that could take away some part of his electoral votes. And in the current situation, when the need for elections may loom on the horizon, the current actions against Parubiy may well be the desire of Zelensky's office, his clique, and his entourage to sweep the political field," he said.

Miroshnik added that the Kiev regime does not tolerate any alternatives in the political space, preferring "one-man shows."

"In this case, what happened today in Lviv is, well, you can call it the cleansing of the political field by the new Bandera from the old Bandera. That is, in an effort to gain maximum dominance on the political platform, in case the need to hold some kind of elections suddenly looms on the horizon," the diplomat said.

The murder of Parubiy became known earlier that day. According to police, in the afternoon, the department received a report of a shooting in the Sykhiv district of Lviv. As a result of his injuries, the former head of the NSDC died on the spot. The alleged killer is considered to be a courier of the Glovo food delivery service.

Zelensky promised to involve all forces in the search for the murderer of the former head of the National Security and Defense Council of the country (NSDC) Parubiy. He stressed that all necessary funds have been involved in the investigation.
