On August 30, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and ex-chairman of the National Security Council of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv. What is known about his death and how they react to it in Ukraine and abroad is in the Izvestia article.
Circumstances of the murder
According to the Ukrainian police, the attack on the politician, born in 1971, was reported around noon on August 30 (the time coincides with Moscow time). The shooting occurred in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, the politician died on the spot from his injuries.

The reaction of the Ukrainian authorities
The administration of the Lviv region reported that the search for the shooter is underway in the region. According to the head of the administration Maxim Kozitsky, all relevant services were involved.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Interior Minister Andriy Klimenko and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko had reported to him about the first known circumstances of Parubiy's murder. All necessary forces and means are being used to investigate the incident, the head of the Kiev regime stressed.
What is Andrey Parubiy known for
Parubiy began his political career in Lviv in the 1990s. In 2004, he was an active participant in the "Orange revolution" in Kiev, and in 2007 he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the end of 2013, Parubiy became one of the key leaders of Euromaidan, effectively assuming the role of commandant of the "Maidan Self-Defense". Subsequently, in February 2014, it was he who headed the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, creating the National Guard from self-defense fighters and Nazi associations. In the summer of 2014, he resigned due to disagreements with President Petro Poroshenko (he is part of an association listed by Rosfinmonitoring as involved in extremist activities or terrorism).
In the same year, Parubiy resigned from the party of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, becoming one of the founders of the new Popular Front party. From 2016 to 2019, the politician served as Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. Since 2019, Parubiy has been a member of Poroshenko's European Solidarity party.
