A teacher who seduced at least 180 children was detained in Latvia.

Police have detained a teacher in Latvia, born in 1988, suspected of child abuse and the production of pornographic materials involving minors. This was announced by the state television and Radio company LSM on August 22.

It is specified that over the course of eight years, the man committed illegal acts against at least 180 children.

During the searches, the police seized media with sexual violence materials. The investigation revealed that between 2016 and 2024, the attacker secretly recorded video calls during which he persuaded them to undress. His victims were girls between the ages of five and 12.

In addition, in 2016 and 2017, the man established friendly contact with minors in order to use them in the future for the production of pornographic materials. A total of 266 such videos were identified. Also in 2016, the suspect sexually assaulted an underage girl who remained in his care.

According to the state television and radio company, the man worked as a teacher at a school before his arrest. At the moment, the criminal case has been transferred to the prosecutor's office.

There, between 1984 and 1991, he committed a number of sexual crimes against four children between the ages of four and nine, and then evaded responsibility thanks to forged documents in the name of a Mexican citizen.
