The family of each participant of the CIO from Komi is under the control of the authorities, acting head of the republic Rostislav Goldstein said at a meeting with Vladimir Putin on August 19. There are more than 7,000 such families in total, he said. In almost 1.5 thousand of them, children are provided with free meals at schools, and parents of another 2 thousand children are compensated for kindergarten fees.

What was discussed at the meeting

216 fighters have already undergone social and medical rehabilitation in Komi. Among other measures to support the families of the participants in the special operation, the republic's authorities compensate for the cost of rest and treatment for more than 600 residents of the region, as well as exempt 32 thousand people from paying transport tax.

"We have every family of the participant under control. We have more than 7 thousand of them. I can literally tell you about everyone. Starting from the nutrition of children in schools, grades 5-11, we have 1,450 such families, compensation for kindergarten fees is 2 thousand children go to kindergartens," said the head of the region.

In addition, Komi actively helps the sponsored city of Rovenki in the LPR: 2.2 billion rubles were spent on its development. Over the entire period, seven healthcare facilities, 50 educational facilities, and 19 public utilities facilities have been created.

Komi has economic difficulties due to the fact that almost all local companies are export—oriented, from oil to timber. "There is a drop, we are not getting about 9.9% of the budget due to the fact that we have started to compensate for income tax, and now the situation is not the best: oil has dropped slightly, the dollar exchange rate has dropped, the rate is quite high. We don't see anything extraordinary in this yet, we are still coping with it, but there are issues that need to be put in order," the president's interlocutor said.

Nevertheless, there is an increase in mining and agricultural production in the republic — they are engaged in it here purposefully. "I think it can be profitable even in the North," Goldstein stressed. Meanwhile, Komi has a widespread production of unique products, in particular, venison and expensive Ust-Tsilem oil. "What I have noticed in this regard is that the natural conditions are harsh in general, and agriculture is growing," Putin said.

The region also managed to lower the unemployment rate to 0.6%, which is less than the national average, said the acting head. Did the president notice: "And the construction has improved. That's good." At the same time, one of the topics of the negotiations, but in a closed format, was issues related to the resettlement program from dilapidated and dilapidated housing in Komi.
