- The director of the camp in Khakassia was accused of the death of a girl from poisoning with insecticides
The director of a health camp in Khakassia has been charged after the death of a 10-year-old girl from insecticide poisoning. This was announced on August 19 by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article on the improper provision of services that led to the death of a minor. According to the investigation, the girl, while in the camp from June 13 to 26, used insect repellents to protect herself from insect bites.
"Uncontrollably, in order to protect herself from insect bites, she used the repellents she had, applying insecticides to her clothes and body, which led to the development of acute chemical poisoning. At the same time, there was no control over their use by the head and staff of the camp," the department's Telegram channel says.
On June 26, the child was rushed to the hospital after complaining of feeling unwell. Despite all the medical care provided, the patient died on July 1. According to the results of the forensic medical examination, death occurred due to acute poisoning by a component of an insecticide.
The investigators concluded that the camp director had failed to ensure the permanent presence of a pediatrician, confining himself to a nurse. Because of this, the help was provided to the pupil at an untimely time. A report on the progress of the criminal investigation will be provided to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin.
