On August 18, former Lokomotiv football player Lassana Diarra demanded compensation from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) in the amount of €65 million after the European Court of Justice recognized FIFA player transfer rules as contrary to the laws of the union.

"In October 2024, the Supreme Court of the European Union declared that some FIFA rules regarding player transfers contradict EU laws. The decision was made after a complaint from Diarra, who claimed that FIFA's transfer rules had damaged his career," Sport-Express reported.

In 2014, Diarra left Lokomotiv. It is noted that the contract with the French football player was unilaterally terminated after the player missed the team's training camps.

Already in 2015, by FIFA's decision, Diarra pledged to pay Lokomotiv monetary compensation in the amount of €12 million for violations that led to the early termination of the agreement.

Earlier, on August 12, it was reported that Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma intends to leave the French football club Paris Saint-Germain. The message followed the news about the absence of the Italian in the application for the match for the UEFA Super Cup against the British Tottenham.
