As a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) killed two people in the Kursk region. This was announced on August 16 by Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein.

"According to preliminary information, two people were killed as a result of an enemy drone attack in the Rila region. This is a 52-year-old man and his 13—year-old son," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

It is specified that local residents died at the scene due to a fire caused by a drone strike.

Earlier, on August 15, 12 civilians were injured as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Kursk region. It was reported that three local residents were sent for outpatient treatment, nine victims were taken to a regional hospital.
