Biological satellite Bion-M No. 2 is scheduled to be launched on August 20 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. This was announced on August 12 by the press service of Roscosmos.

"The launch of the satellite is on August 20," the Telegram channel says.

According to the publication, it has already been refueled with fuel and compressed gases. 75 mice, 1.5 thousand, will go into space on board the biosatellite. Drosophila flies, as well as plants and microorganisms, the TASS news agency clarified. It is expected that the device will be placed into a high-latitude orbit to check its safety, since in the future a Russian space station may be launched onto it.

On August 9, the Crew Dragon spacecraft returned to Earth with Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov as part of the crew. NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, and JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi also returned. The ship was grounded off the coast of California.
