The Aurora Borealis can be observed in Moscow and St. Petersburg. This was announced on August 8 by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).
"In Moscow, the probability of observing the aurora borealis is 13%, in St. Petersburg — 24%. <...> This is the highest probability in the last 1.5 months," the Telegram channel of the laboratory said.
It is noted that at the same time, the probability of a magnetic storm is high.
Earlier, on June 2, it was reported that Muscovites could see the Aurora borealis. It was noted that the probability of seeing this natural phenomenon was high only in clear weather.
