The discipline "Spiritual and moral culture of Russia" has been introduced in schools since 2026

The discipline "Spiritual and moral culture of Russia" will appear in the school curriculum of Russian students from the 2026/2027 academic year. This was announced by the Ministry of Education on July 22.

"The study of the subject "Spiritual and moral Culture of Russia" begins in the 2026/27 academic year," RIA Novosti quotes the ministry's document.

As the agency noted, the purpose of creating a separate subject was the formation of traditional values and worldviews, as well as education in common spiritual and moral norms.

The document provides examples on the basis of which Russian schoolchildren will be educated. Thus, students will study the ways of the country's government, public and cultural figures, scientists and military personnel of different eras, up to those serving during the special operation in Ukraine.

At the opening of new leisure centers, Putin told what the fate of the country in the 21st century depends on.

Earlier, on July 18, it was reported that Russia plans to launch a unified digital profile for schoolchildren, students and young professionals. It is noted that different departments will be responsible for certain parts of the profile: the Ministry of Education will deal with information about students, the Ministry of Labor — information about employees, the Ministry of Education and Science — about students, and Rosmolodezh — about youth in general. All the data will be combined by the Ministry of Finance.
