More than 130 trains were delayed after traffic was suspended in the Rostov region
As a result of the fall of the wreckage of the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on the Likhaya — Zamchalovo stage in the Rostov region, 132 trains are running with delays from 33 minutes to 15 hours. This was announced on July 20 in the Telegram channel of the Russian Railways company.
"Due to the incident at Likhaya station, 132 trains (FPC and Grand Service Express) are running with delays from 33 minutes to 15 hours. Trains pass the scene of the accident at a reduced speed," the message says.
It is specified that 37 trains have already arrived at the destination points.
In addition, additional ticket offices were opened at 13 stations to serve passengers. People are informed about the situation via SMS.
Additional staff are working at the main stations along the North Caucasian and Southeastern Roads. Bottled water was also distributed there. Elderly passengers and those with children were provided with mother and child rooms.
"Railway workers are doing everything possible to reduce the delay time of passenger trains," the Russian Railways stressed.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that 21 passenger trains were delayed en route to and from the Republic of Crimea. Then they stopped on the tracks until 11 o'clock. On July 19, the Russian Railways news channel reported that drone debris had damaged contact networks in the Rostov Region, which delayed more than 50 trains.
