President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a fight in the Verkhovna Rada with deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring) over the issue of demobilization of the Ukrainian military. Goncharenko wrote about this on July 17 in his Telegram channel.

"We had a very tough quarrel with Zelensky over demobilization. Zelensky is categorically against it. He believes that everyone should fight to the end and will return only when we win," Goncharenko wrote.

According to the deputy, "clear terms of service" should be prescribed, and the military should decide for themselves whether to continue participating in hostilities or not.

On July 15, the Verkhovna Rada voted to extend martial law and mobilization. The law will come into force on August 7 and will last 90 days — until November 5. 320 deputies voted in favor, only Goncharenko opposed.
