Pashinyan assessed the likelihood of Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO
Armenia's withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is more likely than the restoration of membership in it. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on July 16.
"It is more likely that we will withdraw from the CSTO than that we will unblock our membership in this organization," Pashinyan said at a press conference in Yerevan. His words are quoted by Sputnik Armenia.
On June 30, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the issue of Armenia's membership in the CSTO a sovereign decision of the country. He noted that the organization has repeatedly shown its effectiveness.
