A criminal case has been opened in Makhachkala after an armed attack on MMA mixed martial arts fighter Timur Khizriev. The Dagestan Prosecutor's Office announced this on July 16.

"The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Dagestan has put under control the progress of the investigation of the criminal case initiated under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Hooliganism," the department's Telegram channel says.

They noted that several people, out of hooligan motives, fired traumatic weapons at Khizriev, causing him bodily injuries. It is noted that the crime was planned in advance.

The shooting in the area of residential buildings in Makhachkala occurred on July 16. Two unidentified men in green masks shot at Khizriev.
